Training and Education for Belyuen Community 2004/2005/2006
Certificate Courses
Certificate II, III and IV in Horticulture are delivered by CharlesDarwinUniversity. This course is ongoing and will be delivered over 04/05/06.
Certificate I, II and III in Conservation and Land Management are delivered by CharlesDarwinUniversity. This course is ongoing and will be delivered over 04/05/06.
Certificate I and II in Own Language Work is delivered by Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education. Both of the certificates will be delivered by the end of 2004.
Certificate II in Community Services (Aged Care Work) is delivered by Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education. This course will be delivered by the end of the 2004.
Certificate I and III in Music Industry (Foundation) RTO is to be determined. This course is aim at Youth. Council are hoping to have this finalised before the end of 2004 to start in 2005.
Certificate III in Children’s Services this course is yet to be finalised, talks with Charles Darwin University have commenced and Council hopes to have it finalised before the end of 2004 to start in 2005.
Certificate III in Aged Care Work this course is yet to be finalised, talks with CharlesDarwinUniversity have commenced and Council hopes to have it finalised before the end of 2004 to start 2005.
Certificate I, II in Spoken and Written English has started in the Community. Over the past couple of months CharlesDarwinUniversity have being coming out once a week and have been working with the Horticulture team.

Driver Training and Licensing
Level I in Wildfire Operations
Driver Medium Rigid Vehicle
Accident Action
Food Safety Program
Basic Computer Skills
Advanced Computer Skills
Workplace literary and numeracy
Night Patrol (this program is currently been set up by Council)
Drink Driving Course (when needed and there are the right numbers to run the course)
Remote Area Automotive Units of Competency
Commercial Passenger Vehicle Licensing
Please note: During the course of the year there maybe some Short Courses that Belyuen Council will offer to the Community not included in this list.
New Apprenticeships
Certificate II in Automotive (Mechanical – Vehicle Servicing) and Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical (Diesel Fitting Mechanic).
Certificate II and III in Retail Operations and Certificate IV in Retail Management.
Please Note: That some Courses still have to be finalized with RTO. Funding will have to be sort to help deliver the training in the community.
